Just making sure, Terry. I dont want to mess it up. And that circlip is a big vague. The cms schematic doesnt tell me how to install it either.

Alright, if someone else looks this up on the search function:

circlip, clutch, install, cb750, how.

Found it deep in the archives.

Sooo, been a while. I didn't really post here because I was mainly answering my own questions. Which is nice, I guess.

I bolted it all back together. Made a nice engine test stand. Hung up the wires and the caburetors, and tried to fire it up. A few kicks I realized I had mixed up the oil tubes from the oil bag. Damned custom crap (the PO fabbed it up). She fired up, but was a beast to kick. Immense compression. Didn't start on a dime either. But oil squirted from the rockers, and the meter gave a nice average of 60 PSI.

Then the cam chain skipped a tooth. !@#. So had to take the top off today. That freed up the engine, hurrah. I drained the oil however, and saw some metal shavings. Probably the bearings. Dammit. And perhaps the tensioner. Will look into that tomorrow.

Some oil is seeping out of the cracks. I guess I should go back and redo all the gaskets, now that I am here. Add sealant on the gaskets? How much?

Kind of scary. But I'm getting fast at assembling and dissasembling these babies. I guess that is a nice thing :s

If you're interested, there's some info at www.facebook.com/tincancustoms. Plus a nice photo of the engine stand.
