Star bright.. Anyone try it?
« on: July 27, 2013, 07:53:09 PM »
Picked up a bottle of STAR BRIGHT ethanol treatment at my local dealer. They swear by it and even my friend mentioned he uses it with every fill up. Apparently it is supposed to negate the harmfull effects of ethanol in the gas. Treated my fuel today and will update this after a while with my thoughts .

Any body else try this stuff and want to report ??

I've used it combined with a little seafoam for about 3-4 years now.   In that time I've noticed nothing - which is a good thing.

The tank of gas that I have in my 74 at the moment does not have either (seafoam/starbrite) in it as I was on a little road trip.

At work late last week, I noticed an odd almost crusty/ooze from around the float bowls.

It hasn't been there before (I'm pretty anal about my carbs)  Carbs are one of the things I look at everytime I ride.

Don't know if I attribute the oozing to bad fuel or a lack of the seafoam/starbrite cocktail.

I like it at will continue to run it.

Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

I can't confirm that it does all the wonderful things many have claimed it does but I do see a slight improvement in fuel mileage when I use it and the engine does seem to like it. On the other hand my youngest son has tried it on his cbr600 and saw no difference in fact if anything he claims it ran a bit worse. Go figure.
