Harley 16" rear wheel conversion: what spokes did you use?
« on: February 07, 2013, 10:54:21 AM »
I'll be needing a new rear tire come summer. The rear wheel on my 76F is a Harley 16"rim laced to the stock hub (w/ disc brake). The rim is in ok shape, but the spokes are pretty trashed. Rusty, pitted... So I'm thinking of swapping them out while I have the back wheel off. Those of you who've done this: what spokes did you use?
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.

I found some on ebay when I did the conversion a few years ago.  Buchanan Spokes may also have some.

I'm looking to do the same thing. I am rebuilding a 1971 CB750 but I just discovered that I have a 17" Harley rim on mine. I wasn't paying attention and I bought stock 18" spokes. they are roughly 2 times longer than the ones I need to replace! I want to say my old spokes were about 100 mm longs. My original spokes were also all one angle. 40 each. Where can I find these??

If of any interest,I have a set of chrome steel and a set of stainless steel. Both would fit the 16 inch rim. They are new and I don't see needing them any time soon.

Would those fit on a 17" Harley rim?

I have a new set of spokes for a 16" Harley rim to stock CB750 hub, you can have them for the shipping cost.  PM if you want them.

Where did you get your spokes? I am working on my 75 CB750 & I am replacing the rear wheel with a Harley 3" rim & I will mount it to the original hub, but I don't know where to buy the spokes.

Just finished lacing mt hub to a 5.5" harley rim.
Got my stainless spokes from speedmoto.com for $110 US.
These guys were awesome and even their shipping costs all the way to Oz were quite reasonable.
