1978 550K PD46C "parts" question

While working on getting my carbs cleaned I found some things I'm just not sure about. I'd appreciate your gentlemen's help with the following:

So air jets:

Now, this is where a possible problem comes up: They all had springs, one of them had a washer (spacer?) and one of them had a small rubber O-ring:

I'm guessing that there should be more washers and more of the rubber O-rings. As always your help is appreciated!

Additionally the slow jet in one of my carbs is damaged. I'd love a recommendation for a replacement (the others seem savable/cleanable).

Looks like the PO had #42 slow jets installed as well. Thoughts on this, gentlemen? My first thought is that the manual (I have) says #38.

Are these what we're talking about:

Also, in carb 1 and carb 4 there were, what seems to be, felt O-rings up top. Is there a way to replace these guys?

42 slow jet is the stock size for those carbs

Yes, the 1977 model year 'K3' used size 38 slow jets, but the 1978 model year 'K4' used size 42 slow jets.  Each mixture screw should have a spring, a washer, and an o-ring.

The remaining washers and o-rings are likely still in the carb bodies. They are very hard to see when in there.
You can use a thin wire with a short 90 degree bend at the end to fish them out. (guitar string etc.)

Yes, when I cleaned my carburetors, all four washers and o-rings remained in the carb bodies, I had to pick each of them out, but thankfully it wasn't too difficult.

Thanks for the updates and help. I had the feeling the washers and rings might still be in there but I did some fishing with a small wire and couldn't find them. I'll look for them in there some more before I go looking for replacements.

The washers go on top of the O ring so the spring end does not damage the O ring.
Make sure the O rings are not damaged. USe a magnifying glass if you need to.

It is as it is commented above for my '78 550. I used a bent paperclip to remove the o-rings that were stuck in the bores. It's the threads that stop them and they're deep down.

As for the pilots, if they're not damaged, pull and clean them. It only takes a guitar string, some Gumout, and compressed air. I'm not sure that the 3L is correct but I had been looking at it for a while as well. My 42s cleaned up nicely. If I had to purchase, I'd go to Sirius but be sure to measure yours so you can compare. A micrometer is a cheap and useful thing, especially for float height measure and it's $9.99 at Harbour Freight.

Use a shop towel around the bottom of the jet before you blow the air through. Jets a basically invisible when compressed air shoots them across the garage, but don't ask me how I know this. LOL

I've got (what seems to be) clean jets now (air passes through them). I'm reassembling using the gasket kit from Honda. Only problem is I have an extra O-ring I can't figure out. I've got the ones on the air jet, the bowl gasket, the top gasket, the one on the bowl drain, around the tubes running between the carbs, and I've got an extra gasket... in each package. And there's a bag marked "A" and I can't figure out what on earth the O-ring in it is.

Additionally I am missing two of the washers for the needles. Any thoughts on where I might find them? I've look at the local tool stores, no dice.

The same exact thing happened to me 2 years ago when I did the Carbs on my 77. Just use a drill bit to make the 2nd hole.
