Hell yes!! OK, so when I get my #42's in I'll pop these on as well and hopefully, as they say, that will be that :)

Now to fix that head gasket leak...... :(

Ha- just got mine out of the shop for the head gasket leak.

@Lucky I meant to say "tuning", not syncing. If you're trying to track down all the possible culprits for slow response and smooth operation, something that's not that obvious would be a headache.

And with these bikes, when it rains it pours. Now I'm looking at new coils, because my plug wires have reached their cut-down limit, which means I have to get new coils, too. FML

Brewsky was the man.
He is very methodical and detail oriented.
He keeps good records too.

I am trying to figure out what you want LostmyKeys.
What are you thinking?

What I told you is true. Brewsky was rebuilding his carbs and discovered the small pieces of brass tubing in the black hose between the carbs in the accelerator pump circuit and when he told me, I was excited because fortunately I had saved those little black hoses in case I wanted to know the exact length later on. Very fortunate.

Why didn't you just say it was you?

I believe you. It has been a while so I could have got it wrong. Sorry.
The forum is not against free speech.
All you had to do is say it was you that discovered the bras tubes.
No one would challenge you.

Sorry to drag this thread back up but I found it very informative and specific to my question so this may help others. The press fit slow jets are difficult to find and much more expensive then other pilots, but I cameacross this statement at motorcyclecarbs.com :
---------Honda CB750's and some other late 60's and 70's Hondas with Keihin Carbs have a press in jet that looks like the N424-22. The Press In version is no longer available, but the N424-22 series jet is actually the right jet only it has threads on it. The threads are the right outside diameter, and you can just add a healthy application of blue or purple locktite to seal the threads even though the threaded jet presses in nicely.------

Anyonehave an opinion on this? It's the difference between $8.50 and $42 for the jets.

Wasn't it Buffo that did the glue in jets thing a few years ago?

Personally, I'd thread the carb bodies rather than glue in.

According to the link I posted, the lock tight is not necessary as the od of the threads as well as the short smooth section are the same size as the press in. The lock tight is just to seal the threads.
