Thanks everyone.  The bar is set really high on this site, so it's always flattering to receive good reviews from people whose bikes have blown me away, too.

I was reveling in being done..for about 36 hrs. Then I got this Sprint fairing. A friend just gave it to me..jeez. It looks very similar to the Magni style fairing on the Ducati that the 400 has the tail section from..hmm..it even has the screen and a nice finished dash insert, too.. I held it up to the 400, and it looks pretty cool...

The interesting thing about it is that it's about 2/3 the size of the Ducati fairing. It's scaled down to look better on a smaller bike.

Maybe something to consider this winter.....

I held it up to the bike and it really looks right.  It would wrap up the theme very well I think.  It would require coming up with a mounting system, and at the very least a set of clubman bars, maybe clip-ons but it would be cool, for sure.

Could you fab up a set of bars that would be a compromise between clubmans and clip-ons? That might provide you the clearance you require, and still give the best comfort...?

Not sure.  The stock bars are really comfy and there's almost room for them, so a compromise might be possible.  I'd rather not go with clip-ons if possible.

Beautiful 400F.  I love mine.....when I can wrestle it away from my two sons.  I enjoy builds like this when the builder recycles as much as is reasonable.  It sure takes a lot of time and skill to do it that way.  Good Job!

Larry, the bike looks fantastic, so many thoughtful touches, form AND function. One of a kind and personal, yet it looks anything but "hacked-at". I agree with some other commenters too - the use of the stock color and graphics ties it back to its day, but better.

A+, a definite BOTM bike, and thank you so much for sharing so much of your process as you did the build, I learned a lot, and enjoyed it too.

Thanks very much NobleHops.  It was definitely a labor of love for one of these bikes.  I really wanted to maintain it's heritage and yet have something a little different at the same time.  The fact that people have acknowledged that makes me happy I went in that direction.  I'm glad you enjoyed the process, as I, too, enjoyed watching yours come together.  2 more 400F's back in action again.
