2 tier seat for 73 CB750
« on: July 31, 2013, 12:51:44 PM »
Hey all,

I have the original flat seat on my bike which for long rides 6, 8 plus hours gets a bit taxing on the bottom end, more so for the wife.
I've been trying to locate a 2 tier seat preferably with the rider side a bit lower than the passenger, and of course with more comfort but have had no luck.

Is there any place within Ontario Canada, or via the internet that I could purchase something???

I would expect a flood of offers to trade seats with you.

You don't want a travelcade they are not that comfortable.  I have an extra 2 up that is very comfortable and half way decent looking too.  If you want to trade let me know.

I'd like to keep the original shelved if possible, but if the trade is worth it then who knows.

Pic of the one on the bike now.

Hi Vincent,   Aftermarket vintage seats like the one in the pic are available on eBay from time to time.
I like them myself and picked one up recently for around 50-60 bucks.
They provide an alternate look and are reasonably comfortable.  The downside is that they
lock the rider into one position preventing you from changing position by scooting back like on the stock seat.

My suggestion is to keep your stock seat.  At some point you will want it back.  Goodluck.

Oh I plan on keeping the stock seat, the issue is comfort for both the wife and me (which limits how far I can move around) on long rides.

Thanks Vincent - fairing/windshield are the same thing to me but I guess not everyone. Anyway much clearer pic and looks like a National windshield or Spitfire perhaps?

Good eye, it's a Spitfire.
Also one of the items I want to swap out for a bit larger of a unit.

BINGO!!! That's exactly what I'm talking about; now where do I find one???

Wish I could tell you, I got mine for free and some other stuff from a dude who was just giving away some old parts. I actually like the look better then original flat one. I was wondering what kind I had. The guy that said the disadvantage of not being able to change positions must be short bc I can change around a bit, though I'm 4'29" and have only taken a few short test rides...
