picked up a 73 750k for 300.00 got it home did a comp test 150 all 4. fresh gas and oil fired it up seemed to idle fairly smooth. took it for a ride didnt want to cruise smoothly at all give it just a little throttle ran ok till i wanted to cruise. so i stopped by my bike mechanic friend left it with him to check it out. he pulled carbs to see if they were re-jetted for the pods and mac exhaust p.o. installed. nope ordered jet kit. he cleaned and checked over carbs found slide bores were scarred on all 4. suggested a good set at some point. installed jet kit went to sync said it was only pulling 8in of vac. stated valves were loose should look into a valve job. he took it for a ride, he thinks scored slides could be letting too much air through. went with a larger jet to richen it. got it back cruise roughness can be heard but not felt this time. bike hauls ass on heavy or wide throttle.
do they make a slide kit to refurbish the bore with an over sized slide? second. could the low vac be valves or the carb bores leaking?
