Morning all! Tim, I'm glad you've changed your tune, for a non-American, you were really sounding like a "Texan Wannabe" back in your previous post. Enjoy your time in Oz, the biggest (and most impressive) Island on Earth!
Pete, the "Rolladoor" was a fragile piece of crap, and if you can find one of the thousands made still on the road now, it'll have had at least one rebuild, if not a couple. Sorry mate, but the DOHC 4's were less than impressive, especially in 1979. (CB1100R excluded, of course, but it was an entirely different bike)
Killer, I watched a documentary on the History channel about what might have happened to Hitler and all things pointed to him being spirited away to Argentina too, but the allies covered it up because it would have been a major embarrassment. They were able to DNA test the "remains" that the Russians removed from Berlin in 1945, and they didn't match any of his relatives, so it looks like he might have had the last laugh?
Dave, (Raffy) I could lift the front wheel of my CX500 every time I put it on the centrestand, it was easy! But to be fair, even though it weighed as much as a CB750 and had the same horsepower as a CB450, (uuuggghhh) with Murray's 34mm Mikuni carb conversion and a straight thru exhaust system, it can be a fun bike, but the 650 with another 18 BHP is a much better bike, just butt-ugly.
If I hadn't bought my BMW K100RS SE I would have installed the 650 engine in my Custom, and with Murrays carbs and my pipes, it would have done proper wheelies! Oh, and "Dude" is a pretty common term here too, so I don't know if that's a hint to someone's true identity.........
G'Day Bobby, yeah, if Tim knew that my ancestors were Irish rebels who were transported to Oz for taking on the might of the English army in the Irish Rebellion of 1798, he'd understand that I have no love for Britain, nor do I have any English ancestry. It's good fun taking the piss out of him though..........
