Looking for a source for wire harness bands
« on: August 02, 2013, 11:27:58 AM »
Hello all!
The title pretty much says it all.  I am looking for a reliable source that sells new, what the service manual calls, wire harness bands.  The bands that came off my bike could probably be reused, and I have found some used sets on Ebay, but would really like to find some that are new or NOS.  With as much time and effort as I'm putting into this project, I don't want to skimp on the same details.  I know I could use zip-ties and, more than likely,no one would ever notice, but I like the clean look of the factory parts.  Thank You!

BikeBandit carries them, though the small bands (Band "B") are now made of nylon rather than the old aluminum style. If you need the alum, bands and your old ones are good you can flatten them out, then replace the rubber coating using Plasti-Dip (Home Depot).

Thanks NC.  It would be nice to be able to source them locally.  I'll be heading to the parts house tomorrow anyway, so I'll be sure to check for them while I'm there.

Why not give your local Honda guy the part numbers and have him include them on next week's order?! No shipping charges that way.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

If the Honda dealer doesn't have them you could go to Yamiya.  They have them in a set for @ 17 bucks US.  I don't know about the freight.......

They are available from Honda, but they are not what you are looking for!  They have been superceded
to a new part that looks nothing like the originals!  Don't ask me how I know.

KC:  Thanks for the heads up on the dealership parts.
Bootlegger and Oldbob:  Those are exactly what I need. Thanks for the links!

One thing to notice about the above fastners is that they are all the big bands (Band A), and that the small bands (Band B)  have been discontinued in aluminum and are now black nylon, as has been pointed out before. You may still have to refurbish your small bands if you want to be precise in your restoration, as the large bands are just too big for some applications...
