Hmm?  Being a skeptic by birth...  :) I'll save my next dead AA and try it though.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

It would be much more convincing if both the batteries were the same brand.  I always thought the Duracells were heavier/beefier than Energizers, and weight could influence that type of test.

Energizer are built tougher, why else would they have an advertising campaign daring you to knock it off Robert Conrad's shoulder??

I did it with my car battery. Its apparently still good. Something must be wrong with my starter. I'll give it the drop test as well and see if it stands up.

I mistakenly remember it as a Duracell.  In looking it up, I found a REAL old Robert Conrad!

I had a sick(or so I thought) cat once, and tried this test with the cat inverted. He flipped around and landed on it's feet, so it couldn't have been that sick.

I had a sick DOG once so I grabbed my CAT and rubbed it up and down the dogs body then turned the cat loose. Dog jumped up and chased the cat , so the CATSCAN showed the dog to be cured, just LAZY.

You will noticed the 'good' battery was dropped from about 1". The 'bad' battery was dropped from closer to 2".
