Topic: Do these hoses attach?

These 2 ports look to be the same size and both breather tubes. Right now I have nothing on either and I'm sure I need something. They're both the same level and size. Pic 1 top of valve cover, pic 2 top of oil tank.

On my 750 K0, the top of the engine is vented to the atmosphere - hose goes under the battery box.

The vent on the oil tank connects to a nipple at the back of the transmission case - right above the swing arm.

Assuming it's a 550 or late 500, it's smog/emissions spec so the crankcase vent recirculates into the airbox.

theres already a small hose that goes from the bottom of the oil tank to the back end of the crankcase...

This is how I understand the hoses route/hookup.

The hose from the breather (pic 1) vents to atmosphere.

The hose from the top of the oil tank (pic 2) vents to atmosphere.

The hose from the bottom of the oil tank connects to the back of the engine.

Ok! So it's just stupid coincidence that the 2 tubes are the same size, level, and point at each other?! Honda why you tryin to #$%* with a guy that sees things like this??
