Looking for 1976 CB750 stock rings
« on: August 06, 2013, 08:56:05 AM »
I am not sure if this is a Super Sport or not. My engine number is CB750E-2525501. I have been reading SS rings are very hard to find. Is the worst case scenario completely different pistons and rings for a normal 750? Learning as I go. Thanks

I will add that the sides of my pistons read 392 and I believe the correct rings to be 13011-300-024. I am trying to find a for sure answer on this part number.

I will also add that my pistons are identical to the piston on the right. Photo courtesy of  Jerry Rxman Griffin.

Is the exterior original engine finish black or silver ? If its the silver F you should be fine finding some I think. Here is another chart I like   http://www.hondachopper.com/engine/engine_timeline/timeline.html

I think that is about the going price. Seems like I bought some from Z1 last year and they were $34 and change. Where are you from in Indiana?

Know it well. Use to drive from Greenfield to Muncie and hang sheetrock. That was a lifetime ago.

Pistons OK? The rings should not have too much gap upwards-downwards that can happen driving too hard too early before completely warm. I know since i have done it....

i got a sister and brother in law that live in muncie.  im in monrovia.  my understanding is stock rings are thicker than the f model rings.   my k2 motor has rings almost twice as thick as my f motor
