Thanks for the welcome! Getting into the electrics today was a bit of an experience. Most of the wiring seemed surprisingly solid, but there were just a few switches that were just... missing (an old lady up in the mountain bought the bike new and owned it till 2011, with myself being the third owner. My gut tells me she had to get creative more than once up there). The missing components seem to explain why the blinkers never blinked, and why the front brake never engaged the brake light. At least they're easy to remedy. The main fix I'm in is the christmas tree below the gauges. Basically nothing is working right in that box and I'm not sure why. Luckily, however, I went a year without it functioning and experienced no particular problems, so if I can't figure it out I'm not going to sweat it (unless there's something I'm missing here).
