I don't know if any of you bikers are into old cars or not but I am. I am going to Monterey Tuesday and spend six days going to all sorts of car events. I'm going to trailer my bike the 200 miles to Salinas, where I'm staying, so that I can take everything that I need. I'll be using the bike to go to all the things that are going on. Tuesday there is a "Concours on the Avenue" in Carmel. Wednesday the town of Pacific Grove has what they call the "Little Car Show" for micro cars and then in the afternoon I'm going to the Mecum auction to check out the inventory they have, no bidding just spectating for me. Thursday they hold the "Pebble Beach Tour" on highway 1 for the cars that are entered in the Pebble Beach Concours. Thursday afternoon Laguna Seca race track is open for free to see all the vintage race cars that will be running Friday,Saturday and Sunday. Friday morning there is an event called the "Concorso Italiano" for all Italian made cars. Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday I'm going to spend at Laguna Seca watching some really great old cars being raced. All of these events are free except for the races, which I had to buy a ticket for, and the Italian car show, which I was able to get a complimentary ticket for. I would love to go to the Pebble Beach Concours on Sunday but they have priced that out of my budget. So this is going to be a great week of running all over the Monterey Peninsula on my 500 and seeing all the great old cars that I can handle.
