All the earth tones from the 70's were hideous.

Honda started out the 70's with some great metallic candy's in blue, red, orange and Gold.

Then we got the earth tones. Even in carpets and kitchens during that era. It was ugly then and ugly now.

Also as a 450 owner the brown and the green are my least favorites. The best ones being polynesian metallaic blue, red, and sunrise orange flake.

To each his own. I think that CBR in orange is a great color. Just like I think Honda's Brown is a great color for the CB450.

I F&$*iung hate anything blue (I'm irish). I hate anything red since EVERYONE has a red bike. Brown is unique, and subtle.

I have to wonder whether Fender's vantage is somewhat re-oriented because it's his GF's bike color? And that she graduated from "Design" school, so it MUST be right.

All ribbing aside, I actually like the metallic browns on the vintage Hondas. Don't care for the decals and flat brown (Poop, absolutely Poop) but the "Rootbeer and Black" is a cool color.

Not so keen on the Repsol livery, but many race liveries are a tad over the top anyway and not meant for street.

I just think brown in a good shade can be a subtle color that is actually quite nice. I was seriously considering brown as an option over black because black will make my CB450 look too small for my big ass, so brown was a consideration because it's dark, but doesn't shrink the bike down nearly as much.

Bill posted the worst possible picture of a brown CB450 with shoddy contrast which I still think was directed at me, especially given the syntax of the thread title..

People who hate brown: I'm shocked that you would dare to eat chocolate, drink mochas, wear a baseball mit, or approach a UPS worker. How could you dare to wear brown khakis or shorts? What about that pair of brown shoes in your closet? You wouldn't want to tell most people in the world that they haves poopy eyes. :) Poop isn't the only thing that's brown, just like piss isn't the only thing that's yellow.

With that logic we should start hating white or cream and say that it looks like jizz?

Again, to each his own. Everyone has different emotions for colors and reasons for not preferring them. I like the Repsol color too. That's the color I would get if I were to get a CBR. I like Orange and black that is loud and in your face. That's the way a CBR should be, that's how it's marketed too! Worst thing you can do is color it more bland and make it look like every sport bike in the world.

God forbid it be red. Red is the worst. Only because....who doesn't have a red bike? No one. I'm even guilty. I strive to be different from the pack.

I can't say why I dislike blue. It doesn't make sense on land vehicles. Blue is the color of the sky. A bad shade of blue will make your car invisible to other drivers which isn't that safe. Many people also probably dislike green, but green to me I think of as a forest and I've always liked SUVs in green. They look great when you are offroading. As far as blue, don't get me wrong, I would still gladly take a Boss 429. :)

This has been great fun so far. I got in late so,  is it height, duration, distance or control? I can write my name in the snow, but I have to do it quick and close . What is the point of this pissin match please?

Is there a chance that we could redirect this to" most favorite paint scheme ever".?
That would be more positive and we could enjoy (or piss on ) favorites, shoot, I'd be interested in knowing as a group, what the favorite would be... by voting on it , like BTM. What do you think?
A few Honda 500's, a few Honda 550's, a few Honda 650's, '72 cb 450, a couple 500/550/650 hybrids, and 2001 750.
550 Snowbike -Somebody had to do it.
