I think that generator tank is like 4 mm or more thick.. The day your house insurer of fire dept inspector sees your gatorade bottle..

I throw away the Gatorade bottle after I use it. I'm still in college living in apartments. I don't have anywhere to store anything smelling like fuel. I'm stuck working on my bike in the middle of a parking lot, getting showered in rays of glorious sunshine the whole time.

Plus, I think I'd have to worry more about the police or DEA finding them. They look a lot like a water bong.

I use the step ladder setup with my gas tank also. Very effective and has the petcock to stop the fuel flow when I'm done to eliminate any fuel that might go to places I don't want it to... ;)

Here's my version; I just hang it from the rafters. Works just fine

I'm really surprised by the number of guys who use jury-rigged containers that were not purpose built to be used as fuel tanks and then you use them inside a building.  Though the chances of a fire are small, one mistake could cost SO much.  If you did the same thing outside with a fire extinguisher close at hand, even if something started to go off the rails, you could save your bike and not torch your home or garage or both.
