Rode the Honda Varadero all day yesterday and will be out again this aft.
Riding with my buddy Gary. He’s on his new “Husky”. I figure it cost him 8X what I paid for my Honda. That thought kept me smiling all day!

The wind here is unbelievable today. By 5:00 pm all those leaves will be gone.

I called Tuesday and got a Wednesday morning appointment. The new calipers work well enough. They gave me a receipt for my records even though it's all paid for by Royal Enfield,  $631 between parts and labor.

Bill……. The fairing and hand guards offer great protection. I also added the taller screen that is well below my sight line, but taller and a bit wider than stock. It handles the wind really well. Sudden crosswinds move it a bit, but very comfortable….. it’s surprisingly “slim”. I should have dropped the bags before we set off. It feels nicer without them, on a really windy day.

Do you feel the bike's 'Height' in very large cross-winds ?

Bags are useful if you need to shop for groceries, wine, gin, whiskey etc on the way home ;D
Or a thermos of coffee and maybe something to eat at a beautiful spot without restaurants.

Sorry, missed this question. The bike is large, but the minute it’s rolling the weight disappears. Crosswinds are barely noticeable. It handles beautifully. The bags are so handy, I usually leave them on. They come off in seconds and the metal frames only take a minute longer. Beautiful system. I never use the top box because it makes getting on and off a real pain!

It uses a Ducati 851 as a base.
It was modified by Bimota to be a 904.
It is one of 20 set up this way.

Been doing more neo classic superbike stuff these days.

Figure my goal is to look like I won the lottery when I graduated high school.

Found a bunch of my old SOHC4 parts I forgot about recently, so poked my head back in here.

Nice!  Always wanted a Duc.  Coincidentally, this popped up on my feed the other day...

The DB3 is an oddball for sure.

The more traditional DB4 is the 900SL that ducati should have made.

Great bike.  Had one for a bit.

Now that my KZ750 is road legal, I'm really enjoying riding it, with the only problem being that the hand grip on the throttle is loose, and I almost pulled it right off the bike. I "confiscated" a can of hairspray from my oldest boy 20 years ago when he had hair, so will remember to take it to the storage unit to glue the grip back on. Otherwise, it's a very pleasant cruiser.

I've removed the tank from my 2006 Honda VTR1000F "special" to clean the rust out again after the Evaporust did a reasonable job last time, but with the warmer weather now, it's working better. I took the black bike for a lap around the block to see how it's running with the carbs cleaned, and it goes very nicely, although now I've taken the Yoshy exhaust off (temporarily for registration purposes) it has lost it's L twin "Bark". No biggie, it'll be fun to have it on the road soon. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

It is one of the best riding superbikes I have ever been on.
Very smooth.

It takes a bit of getting used to, but the complete lack of dive is really cool.

Many racers talked about loosing feel at the limit as they were not used to the lack of dive.
But I am neither that good, nor trying that hard.

Well it's not legally on the road yet, but Spotty and I have been riding it around his local streets. Not ridden for 5 years, so oil and filter change, new starter motor, blasted and powdercoated footpeg hanger assemblies, stripped and painted alternator cover (bike came from Geelong, near the water, so lots of corrosion) and new tyres to go on this week. Put original factory mufflers back on for the Roadworthy Inspection next week.

I got it with clip ons which were ridiculously uncomfortable and the reason why the previous owner didn't ride it for so long. Checked the cam belts, they look fine, but I have new ones, so once the holding tools arrive from Britain, I'll swap them out. Bike has only done 26,000 Km (16,000 miles) in 23 years, so no major issues, and an absolute hoot to ride. The dry clutch sounds like a can full of loose nuts and bolts, so looking forward to putting the loud pipes back on to drown it out. ;D

I remember riding next to my buddy's Duc for the first time, pulled up next to him at a stop light and thinking WTF is wrong with his bike?!!!
