Nice to see another sidecar rig, even though it's mounted on the wrong side ;)

Here's mine on a shakedown run after replacing the right head gasket and remounting/realigning the car.

Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

The pipe has no markings or clues as to who made it.  It was on the bike when I bought it.
We were cruising along a back road on Saturday when we saw a farmer. We stopped to chat and ask where the road went that we were on. He invited us to ride up to "his look out" and check out the area with a birds eye view

I always have fun in the side car.  It doesn't get used that often.  Usually only when we are going away somewhere camping.

70CB750 the Dragon is a technical road that requires your attention 100% of the time.  I have been there 6 times and had a great time each time, but there are many roads in the area far more fun than the Dragon. Put it on your Bucket List for sure though!

I done it last October on the way to Barber - see my avatar - but did not have the time for Cherohala.  The whole area sure is pretty.

Oh man - so jealous of your RMNP pic. We were there last week. Rented a Harley in Estes Park. Of the 190 miles we did that day, it rained 160 of 'em :(

We'd hiked the mountain in the last picture (Estes Cone) w/ about 10' of visibility.

We did luck out on the weather. Our timing was good, we didn't get rained on until we got down to Estes Park and even then it wasn't bad. We had come from 100+ degree weather the day before, so the rain felt good. Then the next day back along the Poudre River, the weather was perfect.

Nice pics by the way.

Mine is a '90, the same bike as your '91, differing only in the paint scheme.  Your's was black where mine is red and red where mine is white.  Honda dropped the Hurricane label here in the Land of the Free after 1988 because of the threatened "superbike" ban that made performance a dirty word for a while.

Thats a lovely GT750 Mick, I want Eric's GT750K, but so far he hasn't sent it to me, the buffoon............ ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

The Puppy Dog Trail (PDT) that runs from CT to the Candian Border via MA and VT has been on my bucket list since I heard about it. So I thought an outing to try at least part of it was in order to "practice" for the Cromag event in September.

This would be the maiden run for the XR650L on dirt and with forecasts of 80+ and humid with chance of thuderstorms I was a little apprehensive about running knobbies  8). The idea was to set off from Boston and get to Newfane by 4-4.30pm via the MA and southern VT section of the PDT. It was raining as we left  (Sarah was in the car).

Having a break at the French King Bridge, Route 2, MA  -the stock seat is not the most comfy and the stock tank has a range of 90 miles so frequent fill ups  :-\.

Tree-lined dirt roads kept the temps cooler - the cooling mist ahead

It wouldnt be rural New England without a covered bridge

Middle of nowhere-ville

Finally reached our destination - a yurt just outside Newfane

very luxurious inside

lots of open spaces on the property (its also a working farm with pigs, sheep, chickens, goats etc)

Relieved to have made it!

and a rope swing to relax on

Time to cool off in a swimming hole just up the road from he farm

Dinner that night was in Williamsville at the old General Store

The homemade bread and meatballs with a local VT IPA

Local cheese

The next day I rediscovered a road I had shown me but in the opposite direction - Putney Mountain Road! Wow what a great road photos do not do it justice as mostly its twisty and turny with no where to stop for pics

and then finally it was time to turn East and head home via Keene, Rt 124 to Rt 119 and some backroads. Saw this on Rt 119

That about summed up the weekend. Vermont is great for dirt roads and looking forward to more in September when attempt the whole PDT.

cheers
Andy
