It's a winter time bike though, too hot behind that fairing in summer.

Ill have to agree, I had a 78 GL100 with a Vetter Wind Jammer fairing and it was hot, all the radiator heat came right up to your face. Riding to Las Vegas in July is no fun. Not to change the subject, but i meet Craig Vetter and a CJMC show in Auburn Ca. last summer riding this.
thanks, Mark

NICE!    I love the Sport Classics!

I took my Moto Guzzi V7 Special out for a Christmas day ride.

Had a great 140 mile ride today, the sun was shining, but it was a bit cool after the last few days 100 deg F temps. Still, any ride's a good ride! ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Just put 1,000 miles on my new RnineT over the weekend. I only registered the bike new last week. I would have loved to drive more--but first service is due at 600 miles :) All the BMW motorcycle dealerships in Austria, South Tyrol (Italy) and Germany are closed until January, so I could not get the service done while travelling.
While I have nothing but disdain for BMW due to my experiences with my RR, and while I never really wanted the RnineT (only way to get of the RR was the trade in for a new BMW), I have to admit, that the bike is nothing short of awesome. I love the engine, but it's the handling that is totally amazing. It's like running on rails. Seat position is great too--as was to be expected--RR and my  RnineT share the same fork and handlebars. The seat on the RnineT is more comfortable, however. And the look of the bike grows on me. Perhaps a happy ending after all? No, I still don't trust the parts BMW is using. But so far: thumbs up. Real driving pleasure on the passes and on the Autobahn too--despite the temperatures being slightly above or well below freezing.

Are you wearing heated gear ? That RnineT is the only new bike I even like....

@754
No heated gear, but I wear rain gear over the leathers that has a liner in it, and special gloves where two fingers are side-by side. With the RR, at freezing temperatures, I would sometimes just wear leathers and compensate with discipline. No heated grips on either though. I use those disposable heating pads in my shoes. Problem yesterday was freezing fog along the Rhine River--which forced me to ride with an open visor on the Autobahn. Sometimes, the salt becomes a problem too and forces you to keep the visor open. Nevertheles: winter is my main mc season for all the roads are mine.

I understand why you like the RnineT because it looks so much like the typical BMW from the 1970s but yet featuring the best of today's advancements. However, I never liked the BMWs back in the 70s just like I never liked Harleys. But today, they are familiar friends, being surrounded by bikes, I have relationship to. The RnineT is superior to my Harley in every aspect--but especially the suspension. But I still think that the Harley is much prettier. And with the few changes I did to it, it already is more unique than the BMW ever will be.

@MoMo
Thank you. I do appreciate that. Nobody wishes for that more than I do--with the exception of the German Automobile Club who paid a fortune to bring my RR home--time and again. :)

Well done Wobbly, personally I think you should have bought an R1200GS but I didn't dare mention BMW's after your dramas with the previous bike. Still, the R9T isn't a bad jigger, enjoy! Cheers, Terry. ;D

I just got back from my little 1200 mile weekend-winter tour. No heated grips, no windshield, no forward controls, no bs. Just  beautiful views, some snow, and a bike I am starting to like better and better. :)

Looking good Wobbly, how're those Clubman's and mid mount pegs going, comfy? I suppose you could use your knees for armrests, yeah? ;D

Well on Sunday I bravely braved the storms we've been having here and did a little over 200 miles on the BM. I put my wet weather jacket on, but left the wet weather pants in the top box, and headed off to Cooma, up in the hills, for lunch. It's only 80 miles or so from here, but I made a few detours up some dirt roads I'd spotted from the Monaro Highway, and had a ball blasting on the dirt. I got rained on a few times, but the warmth coming off the big BM's cylinders helped dry my jeans out pretty quickly.

I came across this old deserted farmhouse, I'm guessing that it's as much as a couple of hundred years old, from the side you can see the original building, then the bigger house built on to it at a later date. Can you see the face in the window? I wasn't game to go inside, 1. because I was trespassing, and 2. I've watched too many American paranormal shows and the last thing I wanted to do is bring some freeloading ghost home with me............. I love the letter box, if I had the time (or the balls) I would have souvenired it!

After a great Chinese meal for lunch, washed down with a couple of Corona's, I tackled the Snowy Mountains Highway. This is now my favourite fast road, "Highway" is an exaggeration I reckon, the straightest section that I encountered today wouldn't have been a mile long. That's right, tons of fast sweepers and tighter bends to test your cornering skills, and not a cop in sight! Don't tell Cal, he doesn't like dirty speedsters, but I cruised @ 90 MPH, with plenty of bursts of 100 MPH, and even one short lunge up to 120. (+)

Sadly the ominous black clouds that I'd been skirting all day finally opened up and I got rained on, and even though I could have put my wet weather pants on and kept going, wet roads aren't anywhere as much fun to ride really fast on, so I turned back for Canberra, and arrived safe in my garage just as the deluge started. Great day! ;D
