2013 BMW F800GT setup for cold weather.
The hand guards and huge windshield will be replaced with the stock windshield when warm weather returns.

Bill, it's cold--but the beautiful landscape makes you forget how cold it is.
Nothing new for me, but one of these days, I am going to get a bike with heated grips.  :)

Ha ha, you don't need heated grips on the BM Wobbly, not with those big hand warmers poking out each side, just under your knees!

I found time on Saturday to take my Sporty out for a lap, the new Mikuni HSR42 carb, along with the Screaming Chicken pipes and K&N filter have made a great improvement over the restrictive stock setup, it hardly vibrates at all now, and the acceleration is glorious!

Sadly the stock 8 litre tank is only good for around 100 miles, so I've bought a "King Sportster" tank that holds a whopping 11 litres, so when I get time I'll paint it up and install it. Cheers, Terry. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

At least, refueling those, won't cost you a fortune :)

Ha ha, yeah it's good, but kind of embarrassing when you get change out of ten bucks for a tankful mate, my old Ford Explorer costs around 130 bucks and only gets around 500 miles between fills, the Sporty would do the same mileage for like 40 bucks? (AUD) Cheers, Terry. ;D

On a test drive, restored 1973 Yamaha SC500.
Well its not on street but is on a dirt road.

Cold and Rainy as we head south to from Indianapolis to New Orleans

Bounced between 37 and 41 degrees all day.  Heated grips are starting to sound nice.

Correct. She will do her motor cycle licence next year and loves to have a CB400.
As I did in 1978
Sarge,
She needs to talk with MoMo...he has one he could be talked into parting with...

What's more, he would be glad to see it going to a female rider and I don't think he would be heartbroken if it were repainted...
There's a story behind the bike that has made it hard for him to finish it.

Icing on the cake is MoMo knows the CB400 and 450 very well and he's a good mechanic...the real icing is that if I recall correctly...it is an ultra early model with extremely low serial number...if that would matter.

So I'm 500 miles into my 900 mile Easter ride on my latest purchase, a Yamaha FJR1300. Now I've owned 7 BMW's over 40 years and I thought they were the best long distance bike in the world, but this thing is just amazing. Not anywhere as heavy as some modern touring bikes, 145 BHP, sports-bike handling and 50 MPG. Sweet.

It's nice not needing to get off my bike due to soreness or fatigue, but only to refuel it every 250 miles or so, or to empty my bladder, which happens way too often nowadays............ ;D

Ha ha, that's a great description mate, I've had that same feeling many times, and sadly, of the ten bikes I own, this is the only one I can ride for more than an hour at a time and not have a sore butt, even my old Goldwing isn't that good, probably because I'm tall.

The Yamaha has a more "leaned forward" riding position that the 'Wang, and goes around corners like a sports bike, but has the best seat. My first stint in the saddle on Thursday was 2 hours (approx 120 miles) and I only stopped because my bladder wasn't gonna let me go any further.

I was having a ball in the twisties, and I could feel my boots touching down from time to time, but I didn't realise until I looked at them today how much boot rubber I was losing...........  ;D
