Great idea for a thread Banker. Had my 77 GL1000 since April and still got things to do before it's ready for the hwy. But have to admit been dragging my feet and and seems unexpected expenses keep coming up. Good pic of your Wing. Hows it running? Hope to have my Wing out on the road before to much longer and can post some pics.

Terry -- thanks for the complement (I'm assuming it is for one of mine, since it was right after my posts).

Here is my "RV Bike".   We tow a big travel trailer on our "camping" trips, so, I use a rack on the front of my truck to "Haul Ass" -- Madass 125 that is.    This particular Madass actually has a YX160 that has been bored out to 201cc and has a TB V2 Race head and Takewaga high-lift cam with auto decompression.    It only weighs about 220lbs, and a slight profile that allows a lot more cooling air to get to the front of the truck than most "normal" motorcycles would.



Hauling the bike on the front like this allows me to keep the topper on the truck, which I couldn't do with a bike in the back, unless it was something like a Trail 70 (which I've considered).   We like to keep our bicycles, generator and other gear protected from the weather, and potential thieves.

The turn-outs that the PO had on her were pretty damn loud!  Nothing but wadded up chicken wire in there as a spark arrester.  Sounded badazz, but not so good for sidecar duty.  So off with the turn-outs and on with the HD take-offs...

That looks good mate, do the Harley pipes go straight on? My GL1200 mufflers are nice and quiet but the left one is badly stained with battery acid so I'd like to replace them. The problem I have is my header pipes angle up at around 30 degrees (from memory) so I need to either "Cut and shut" them to change the angle, or make up an intermediate pipe to go between header and muffler. Cheers, Terry. ;D

I has a hot rod shop with a mandrel bender make up a connection. They welded it right to the header and left the muffler end a clamp-on.  I'll get so photos for ya tomorrow if ya want 'em.
