I better post this pic while I've still got my BMW R1100RT, as it might be going away for good, tragically. I rode it 2180 Km (1362.5 miles) over four days, and had a great ride, but hit a huge pothole @ 60MPH and did a bit of damage. Great bike though, if the insurance company writes it off, I might have to buy another one. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Thanks Bill, it's definitely my favourite long distance bike at the moment, imagine doing that distance on my Ducati! ;D

Thanks Per, yep the poor old thing took a beating but it still ran like a swiss watch. I was cruising at 80+ MPH each day and it didn’t miss a beat. I really hope they repair it because it’s such a good bike to do big miles on, but if they write it off I get to keep it for spares (if I want it) so I’ll probably just buy another one.

I did some FB window shopping last night and there are a few around in similar condition (without the damage) for about the same price, which is good because BMW turned that bike into a land barge with the R1200RT, so I don’t want the later model, I’d rather buy another Yamaha FJR1300 instead. ;D

You bastaard Eric, you done hurt muh feelings! Guilt is a terrible thing though, my dead iPhone came alive about 9.30 last night when the alarm went off to tell me to take my Melatonin capsule, and because the button at the bottom of the phone is disconnected, I couldn’t shut it off, so I carried it out to the patio and sat it on top of my BBQ just in case the lithium battery decided to get some payback and set itself on fire.

I’d only bought that phone in 2020 and we’d become good friends. I’d regularly talk to it, I took it everywhere, we went on many bike rides together and it took some great pics, hell, I even used it to talk to you guys, so as I carried it out in the dark, with the full moon reflecting off its shattered glass, a single tear dropped onto it’s face, as I realised we’d never be together again……  :-[

You got me a little misty in the eyes reading that Terry. One of my cheapie carry phones died a horrible death on the road also when it fell out of my pocket when I was winding my Bandit up close to the 90mph zone and my pocket was unzipped.  Whoops. I found it amazingly but she was dead from a traumatic incident. PM me brother if the loss get to hard to handle alone and you need a big shoulder to lean on a little. ;)

Thanks, that is a CTX1300, derived from the ST1300.  It was sold here for only a year.  Nice bike, though.

Thanks guys, I must have slept thru the release of the CTX1300 here, not a bad looking bike, and a few for sale here. I always thought that V4 engine needed to be out there where folks could see it, depending on what happens to the BMW’s insurance claim, I might invest in one. ;D

I like the ST1300 too Eric, I’ve only ridden an ST1100 and really liked it. The guy I bought my bargain basement FJR1300 from had bought an ST1100 to replace the FJR1300 because he was worried about the high mileage he’d done on the FJR (127000 miles) and as he had a 1000 mile weekly commute to work needed another bike that could do those sorts of miles.

I’ve seen a few bargain basement ST1300’s for sale, usually due to huge mileages, but they don’t last for long, they’re usually snapped up very quickly. I’m still trying to decide what to do with my Honda Valkyrie, it’s a gutless thing compared to my Triumph Rocket III or an FJR1300, or even my BMW R1100RT which has the same horsepower and torque from an 1100cc twin in a much lighter configuration than the Honda’s flat 6 boxer engine, but if I can make the Valkyrie a comfier bike (the ergonomics are sh1t for someone tall) I can live with it’s lack of power is it is a superbly smooth bike and has only 23000 miles on the odometer, so not even broken in yet. ;D

And after all of the above, this morning I spotted a cheap ST1100 on FB for $2K. It had just been listed so I contacted the seller to say I’ll take it, but of course I was too slow and he got back to me to say that there’s a guy going to take a look at it tomorrow but if he doesn’t buy it (I’ll bet he does) then it’s mine, if I can pay him in cash on Friday. (He lives a couple hours drive from here but doesn’t like bank transfers) Oh well, I’ll keep looking….. ;D

That is a really nice CB 900F. It looks early, what year and market is it. I see single piston calipers, different gauges and a steel swingarm. I like the gauges much better than the US market gauges.

Nice Z1’s and nice 900f!
I didn’t realize the 900f looked so good, great bike.
Which Honda had the V4 transverse with the two in back close together for a slimmer section where the rider is, genius.

I also like that color scheme with the silver engine, looks sharp.
