3 piece oil rings on a '72 cb750
« on: August 17, 2013, 12:01:33 PM »
Im now to the point of ordering new piston rings for my '72 cb750
Its an earlier '72 and has the one piece oil ring.

I cant seem to find a set anywhere with the one piece (all three piece)
Would it be okay to run a 3 piece or do you recommend trying to find a replacement 1 piece?

I recently used Honda OEM (3 piece oil ring) rings on my K2 - worked out fantastic.   The old style 1 piece rings are easier to install, but the 3 piece will seal better, especially if you only did a hone and not a full re-bore.
