Whatever happens from here out will be a surprise to me. I showed my quick design to the painter but the final product has been left to his creativity. The ribbons though will be grapic decals that will not be cleared over so they can be removed if necessary. Still Waiting For Godot...Larry

Well, I finally got a text from the painter-body work is done and pearl white has been applied. Image is on my phone but I don't know how to get it to the computer

Another good thing happened today- got the title for the 84 Sabre that has been in my shed for the past year. The bike was given to me because the PO did not want to spend the money to get the clutch push rod seal leak fixed. Seems the oil drips down the motor and straight onto the crossover muffler, creating just a little bit of smoke

-actually so much so that I was afraid to ride it. Once the exhaust got hot the bike was like one of the old mosquito sprayers

that used to fumigate my neighborhood. Clutch push rod seal seems like a minor job but the motor has to be removed to get to the seal, not one of HOnda's better designs...Larry

Body work is done and there is paint on the tins(albeit primer). Didn't have my camera(forgot tho that I have a camera in my phone

) Mr. Painter says everything will be finished tomorrow(one of those I'll believe it when I see it). So............................I am still Waiting For Godot...Larry

Unlike the protagonist in Waiting For Godot I am no longer waiting.

The photos make the tank look to have a lavender cast, but it is pearl white with pink for cancer center stripe and silver accent stripes to match the frame . Now that I have the tank, covers and fenders in my possession I need to make a trip to the local graphic shop to have the Honda logo, fender/license logo and ribbon made(want the Honda logo color to match the silver tank stripes) and the CB400F on the fender plate to match the pearl white of the tank- that is, if those colors are available in graphic vinyl...Larry

You should be able to get any color vinyl you want. The shop may not stock it but can be ordered.

Slow??? Probably 3 months from the time I gave him the tank. A mitigating factor in his favor could be that he only charged $200. He will be the person doing the restoration body work on my 77 El Camino...Larry

$200 is a good deal, and the paintwork looks first rate, worth the wait.

Oh, he'll be much faster on the ElCamino-he needs the money 200 compared to 5000? weigh it out and see what happens...Larry

Still waiting on the side covers, he painted the cancer ribbon on and I wanted it to be a removeable graphic, so he is redoing them white. Guess I am still Waiting For Godot. I did order the graphics today-the Norton style Honda in silver to match the frame, CB400F for the front plate in pink to match the center stripe and the ribbon for the side covers in the same pink.

I have been really busy with trying to get some exterior house maintenance done before the cold weather sets in-scraping, priming, painting. So the bike is temporarily set aside(I still need the side covers and graphics)....Larry

HA! Born and raised in Rochester, NY (now in GA) so I know what prepping for the winter weather is all about. You need to move south and leave that snow shovel behind.

I was stationed in the south(North Carolina and Florida) back in the late 60s. Loved the Raleigh area, and Savannah too but I am pretty much entrenched here. Now, if I had a boatload of bucks I'd consider a second residence...Larry
