replaced my 130's back to 140" main jet and noticed as I was screwing main jet back into carbs they were going in at all different depths,2 of them almost bottomed out against carb housing were they thread into,never noticed

Should be roughly the same, did you crank down on the emulsion tubes and bail out on some of them? Same brand jets right?
As long as they are in there deeply set in to the bowl it shouldn't really matter too much

just thought might be a interference issue with the emulsion tubes interfering with the needles,carbs coming off later anyway,i screwed around with my sync adj. and threw them out,think i am looking at picking up some new(used) carbs anyway
