There are other manufacturers that make excellent quality shocks for our bikes,  like YSS and works performance just for starters,  Works Performance , YSS,  Ikon and Hagon {actually, most reputable suspension manufacturers} will build to suit {I left out quite a few}.  Wilbers may be good shocks but there are always alternatives that are just as good and cheaper, I was quoted prices for Ohlins at almost half the price of the wilbers....   {I have an expensive hooker Terry... }

YSS shocks were used on the CycleX race bike that set records it will take years to beat if ever in the US...check it out..

Actually Mick, if you go to the "Company Profile" section of YSS USA you'll see that they're actually made in Thailand. I had two sets of YSS "Bravo's" and they were terrible, but I'm sure the gas shockers are better. I wouldn't swap them for my Ikons though. Cheers, Terry.

Yes, especially since Ohlins does not make shocks specifically for the K7, Wilbers does. The question was: what are the best shocks for the K7. And there is only one answer to it. As always in life, you get what you pay for. With additional options, you can spend up to $ 2,000 on the Wilbers which is $ 50 more than I paid for my K7 when I bought it new in 77.

Contact Mike Reick (MReick here) mate, he's got Ohlins on his CB750F. If they'll fit and F, they'll fit a K7. Cheers, Terry.

I think he has rear Hyperpro shocks not Ohlns. They are phenomenal shocks!

I am very well aware of what Ikons are. They took everything over but had to rearrange the name for legal reasons. But I simply have never seen the fine-adjustable type in the US or in Europe, although looking through EBay for Honda parts is one of my favorite activities. 
All I ever see the previous style.

I have a set with the damping adjuster and adjustable spring rate on my 650, the box they came in was branded Ikon, I would rate them highly.  Far better than what is at the front end of the bike.   One day I'll do something about that

I love my Works Performance Pro Racers, great performance.


I have also been more than happy with Race Tech suspension and Ohlins.

Ran into an engineer guy that did some work for me in the past today {Frame bracing and swing arm mods}had lost his number, he's now selling and setting up Gazi shocks, they look the part and he also set up and modified the 1100 Katana thats currently second in the Aus championships {forgotten era or what ever its called now}and it wears Gazi shocks as well, he said he could custom build me a very well set up pair of shocks for under a grand. They have adjustable ride height, which is great...

Yep, they look pretty good Mick, they're made in Thailand as well, there was a bloke selling them at the Classic at Phillip Island last year, and they were pretty cheap. Cheers, Terry.

That could be the same guy Terry, This is the bike that he works on, its equipped with the Gazi shocks... I think it finished 7th in 2012 and its currently 2nd this year..{thats what i was told}
