CB500 Rear End
« on: August 15, 2013, 02:11:47 AM »
Hey guys just after some info!

I have the chance to get a 73 CB500 Four cheaply but it doesn't have the swingarm, rear wheel and brake assembly! Just wondering if any others are interchangeable as these are proving hard to find! Have found some on UK and US ebay but would prefer to try and source them locally!

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers
Brad

550 is the same and I believe some 750's fit. Dunno about the 650.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

All 500/550 UP TO 76 are the same

650 swing arm is about an inch and a half longer than the 500/550 but , the frame will have to be drilled to accept larger threaded rod that the unit pivots on. 650 shocks are better than 500/550 with this set up.
A few Honda 500's, a few Honda 550's, a few Honda 650's, '72 cb 450, a couple 500/550/650 hybrids, and 2001 750.

What's the difference between the early and 78,79? I am putting one from a 74 on a 77 seemed the same to me.

Some of the 77/78 depending on model have closed end swingarms with different hub/brakeplate and spacers. Not all, depends on model so easier to say they are all different

I have a powdercoated CB550F swingarm that has a new set of Z1 enterprises needle bearings installed. Comes with axle and spacers and adjusters. Needle bearings are $100 from Z1.
