Saw this '69 Parked the other day
« on: August 17, 2013, 05:32:17 PM »
Driving home and out the corner of my eye spotted this . Had to make the block to snap a few pix. The cleanest I have ever seen! Thought I would share-
Couldn't help but wonder if the polished head and cases would really diminish the value of it (buffing out the tell tale "sandcasting" evidence). I have heard of people "over restoring" bikes and such with polishing. Whatever the case is sure was a beauty, had to touch it with my index finger once really quick ;D

That would get me hittin' the brakes. Paint look a little more on the 'orange' side though and not a deep red, could just be the camera or I'm jealous  :D

That is a fine looking bike 8) Don't see many of those parked on the side of the road or anywhere for a matter of fact. I myself would be a just a little cautious leaving it parked there and unattended, but that's just me. 78 your avatar says your in Mooresville NC,(only about hour and half drive from me and the 750 has NC tags on it. Is that where you saw the bike or was it in another town? Just saw in one of your pics a building with a Mooresville sign over front door, so that answer that question.

I would think someone with a sohc4 CB750 like that they would be a member here. If you are speak up and lets us know who you are ;)

I was thinking the same thing Hall...the guy must be a member here. That is a fine bike. I agree the pics might be a little off as that color does not show as a ruby red in the pics. I have the same issue with trying to photo the candy gold...just does not show right with the camera. That is one great looking bike though. I am also one who rides the bikes, but will only park it where I can see it. Heck, it only takes a second to steal those side covers and the thief can make some big bucks on those.

If I ride either 750 Johnie, but especially the KO anywhere it's going to be parked only where I can keep my eyes on it. If I can't than I won't park it.

Wow, nice bike!  Its fun to see other CB's out and about.  Had a similar experience today.... stopped at a little strip mall to look at my map.  Parked in front of an empty section of the building, and   :o  sitting quietly inside was a very nice original K2 !  Bit of a surreal moment seeing the reflection of my bike in the window and the same bike starring back out at me  (of course -  should have taken a pic)   ;D

Yep , Mooresvile, NC . I waiting around for a little bit waiting for the guy to show up as I thought surely he couldn't be far away but he didn't. I have had bikes knocked over and would never venture far from something like that but for one he was almost across the street from the Police Department and 2 people with collectibles like that around here are insured up the wazoo-

There's alotta " car people " here in "Race City USA" so it didn't surprise me as much as it would have else where. You see all kinds of exotica and antiquity here. It almost sux as you are kinda numbed a bit by it . Like I wont even look twice at a challenger that's not "Plum Crazy Purple"
oh man , what is happening to me . To much steak and Lobster has turned me into a shnob that really only has an appetite for the rarest truffles and well you get the analogy...:)

btw- I did see the vin and neck said 1969 but not sure if I got a ic or not , have to look. It was very bright that day sp the paint may have photographed untrue but she sure was a beauty. Just the side covers like they are are like a grand or so huh? Man , I would never trust that on the curb...it just waiting for shocking moment.

That is one very nice looking bike.  I'm like most owners that have posted in that I will not leave my vintage bikes anywhere where I cannot see them.  Only exception is work...Larry

If you so the vin tag , you could have got the month. Real early ones did not have a vin tag, just numbers in the frame.

yes- eyes open- apparently the owner is  a fan of CVS Pharmacy or Wells Fargo Bank(across the street) given the bikes value,:)
I am guessing the latter of the two. I recall seeing 1969 clearly as it was the first thing I looked for and it confirmed my thoughts that it was indeed a first year cb750- I am stoked to see it in my town and that I had my camera.

wish I had thought of that - I actually had the wits about me to do so on a early model T500 last year that was in prisitine shape. 6 monthes later I traded a 06 SV650 even for it - here it is . had something like 6k on the clock
