Here is my new project. Working on tear down. Here are the pics. If you like any of this chopper stuff let me know and we'll deal. I also have quite a few cb500 spare parts if you need them. Just ask and I'll tell you what I have.

Quick update. I have a spare engine with covers so my pan is to clean and paint everything while she's in rolling chassis form. Then polish the aluminum from the spare and swap out the covers

Cleaned and degreased, engine is actually very clean.

I like that seat, is it in good shape, want to sell it ? I'm kinda local....well I'm in upstate NY and have a project that is begging for a seat like that.please let me know.

Sure! PM me an offer, but I'm not shipping the thing. Seat is in good shape, missing one button. I'd rather trade for a different seat because I don't have one!

Ok, so no bites on the project before Christmas so I'm full steam ahead. Cut off seat mounts, installed wiring harness, headlight, carbs, front lights, and gauges!

Well, no spark on 1 + 4, dead condenser. At least I'll have the pipes back on before the new condensers show up.

Did a little work today. Decided not to chop the frame completely. Instead, I just scored it from the inside and then pounded it in. Left a nice place to mount a tail light ! Here's a pic of the job plus a pic of the bike in current state.

Nice bike, the tank looks mint.

If you plan on mounting the light like that, ensure that shock travel is limited or your light/plate etc. will get launched into the scenery at the first bump in the road

What do you plan on doing for a seat?

Believe it or not, I think I have an idea for a plywood seat pan. That will also allow me to mount the tail light into the wood itself if travel becomes a problem (which it might because I put on about 20 lbs :0))

So, here's my plan. Half inch plywood, scored so it bends, put epoxy in scores, and clamp into place. Hopefully it stays in this shape.
