Picked up a GL650 today
« on: August 18, 2013, 11:23:53 AM »
Have been seeing a ratty GL650 on CL here for about two weeks now.  Apparently a guy took it in a trade and put it right back up.  I had a CX500 that I sold a while back and really liked the way it ran.  This should be much the same with a little more power.  The wife was coincidentally getting her hair down when I went out and got it.   $300 with title.  I guess with these bikes you had a choice between a second seat and trunk but not both  ???

The seat and trunk swap on/off so you can switch it up. There is a luggage rack out there that facilitates mounting the stock trunk behind the passenger seat. I had a gl500 for a few years that I rode as a commuter bike. They are a nice reliable, low maintenance bike.

The rack that extends the trunk is a Markland-they usually sell for one to two hundred $ when they come up for sale.  That is a very good price. I still have a 500 Silverwing that I used as a daily rider for a couple years until I just got the Pacific Coast to replace it. Enjoy the bike...Larry

The 650 was made that year only, I like them but resale seems bit of a rough market. ;)
