CB550 Chain Question
« on: August 20, 2013, 02:19:44 PM »
I have a CB550 running GSXR 750 wheels.

I need a new chain, but unsure what to get.

The rear wheel is currently running a 45 or 47 tooth sprocket, I know right, but will soon be downsizing to a 38/39 tooth sprocket.

And chain pointers for the gixxer rear?

also, just in case it matters, im running the cycle x 10mm offset front sprocket, 17t.

Cheers

Your question is a bit unclear.

Typically CB550's must use non-o-ring chains because the width of o-ring chains is to wide and they grind away at the tranny case, fcuking things up, but you don't have that concern thanks to the offset sprocket. That being said, I'd buy a good quality DID or EK x-ring 530 chain. I'm assuming you have 530 sprockets, right?

Purchase a long enough chain that you can cut to the desired length and rivet.
