Lisa, any idea of the route you would take? Maybe the LA/San Diego contingent could be involved?

Not sure why you have Albuquerque on the list but highly suggest Santa Fe and/or Taos instead.
Plenty of Indians at the Taos Pueblo, they've been living there for over a 1000 years!

Maybe she knows someone in the area. Or, it is a shopping point of interest. :D
Sante Fe would be on my list. I worked supporting a military project called AngelFire, it is also the name of one of the ski slopes/towns in NW NM area. Likely to be pretty cold in April and still have snow there.
More likely Albuqerque is return point to super slab home to Cali via Winslow, AZ for the Flatbed Ford on the Corner photo op and Meteor Crater which are nearby route 40 or route 66 which parallels 40 in that area.

ha ha, well Albuquerque made the list because I got lazy and thought it would be nice to just ride on up there in case I wanted to go to Colorado or elsewhere.  Seems Santa Fe is the clear winner though so scratch Alb and add Sante Fe.  You guys always end up giving me ideas that  change my initial plans--which is exactly how I ended up in Canada this year  ;)...
And yes David you are correct, I did want to go to the Corner Photo op...don't really know what that is but heard about it off hand so thought it would be interesting to check out.

Sheesh... youngsters and their music these days....

Eagles - Take It Easy Lyrics

Songwriters: BROWNE, JACKSON / FREY, GLENN
Well, I'm running down the road
Tryin' to loosen my load I've got seven women on my mind
Four that wanna own me
Two that wanna stone me
One says she's a friend of mine
Take it easy Take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels
Drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand
And take it easy
Well, I'm a standing on a corner In Winslow, Arizona
And such a fine sight to see It's a girl, my lord In a flatbed Ford
Slowin' down to take a look at me
 Come on, baby
Don't say maybe I gotta know if your sweet love Is gonna save me
We may lose and we may win
Though we will never be here again
So open up, I'm climbin' in
And take it easy
Well I'm running down the road
Tryin' to loosen my load
Got a world of trouble on my mind
Lookin' for a lover
Who won't blow my cover
She's so hard to find
Take it easy
Take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels
Make you crazy
 Come on baby
Don't say maybe I gotta know if your sweet love Is gonna save me
Oh oh oh
Oh we got it easy
We oughta take it easy

So are you saying that the corner was there and Jackson wrote about it? OR Jackson wrote about a corner and someone threw a statue of him there?  Because personally I would rather just have the picture with Jackson and not visit the corner!

I need to 'splain it Lucy?

Ford was added and is likely the town's tourism office doing or the gift shop...
He was writing about a beautiful woman, like yourself, giving him the once over.  He was a very unfaithful man...nothing but trouble.
Jerry, that's a low blow calling him Scottly...

Well, maybe a photo with Jackson could be arranged...what would if be worth to you?

I started my senior year in High School the year that came out... '80 grad...

Yeah, Pimpzilla is currently residing at my place. I'm down w/ starting him out next year or transferring him elsewhere. I'm pretty stoked to see him still kitted out too. I didn't really expect the outfit to last a state or two.

Scott and Lisa, are you going to be Grand Pooba for 2014?
I have and idea but don't want to publicly float the idea. So, I am going to PM you today to determine if the idea has merit. My idea is not to change plans, but an enhancement to the plan.
David

P.S.
Can some one post or link a few good photos (close up shots) of all three Godzillas? A friend wanted to see pictures of all three when I told them about it.

P. P. S.
We should start putting together the shirt & pen design in advance so that the shirts can be ordered dromfrom a place like Zazzle, CafePress, or similar source on demand. That way they ship on demand and you can get the shirt early. I would suggest a photoshop of all three GZ using line drawing or other photo effect that is printed shirt friendly.  Something using SOHC/4 logo design the three boys and not a problem with copyright lawyers like the Honda logo on Trevor's shirt design.

OK folks, time to start making plans, and this seems to be as good a place as any.
First, there are only 19 names on the sign-up list so far! :o :o :o Hard to plan a relay with so few, so far apart... :(

I think you will need to start a new 2014 World Tour master thread too.

Yea, even though the majority voted on this thread to keep the same format, as scottly says, 20 riders ain't gonna cut it, so I propose we start thinking about a plan B, (choice 3 above?) or do we wait for more riders.

So, are you still thinking three zillas this year?  Starting South and headed North?

The more I think about the 3 'zilla scheme the more I like it.
Reasons:
1) The past three tours have been hard on the region co-ords to corral and coordinate across the country.
ie.. will east coast get it out in time, will west coast get it back in time, will Texas ever let go of Zilla
2) Smaller regions = less dependence on people 3000 miles away. Easier to co-ordinate.
3) Smaller regions = more time to zig-zag around your state.
4) Trade zilla's. East meets Central at AR/TN border and swap, Central meets West at a point and swap.
Each region zig-zag several times and swap. Although that gets into more complexity.
5) ??

Just my 2cents.
Ill go with either plan though.

as soon as I get my bike sorted out I will be ready for anything.  I hope to ride as many miles and as many segments as I can this year.  I have a lot of sick days built up and need to use them before I retire in June.  March is a good month for me and so is April.  May should be fair.  August and October and November can be worked out too.  as you all know I will do nearly as many miles in a day as needed if it needs to be done.  I would RATHER take some time to be able to stop and smell the roses along the trip like I did in V.2.0 though.
