There's always Oregon.

Traveling up to Oregon may be a possibility for me, I know the roads between here and there pretty well, and I have friends in the Medford area that might be around to put me up for a night or two, I'll watch out for the planning of the route and schedule as it passes back toward the pacific northwest to see what might work out.  Thanks Matt.

BD,
    When there's SOHC's involved anything's possible!   ;D

GZ 1.0 is retired to Jerry's mantle and "Lefty" is currently "Down Under". I believe Lefty may be permanently assigned to overseas ambassador duties.  :)

Pimpzilla will continue with the heavy lifting for this go-around....  8)

OK, looks like we have a plan!  I will be pulling out of Colorado the morning of 3/28 and will be heading for Flagstaff, AZ.  I will spend the night there somewhere and then take a leisurely cruise from there west to Bullhead City, AZ.  I think I will check out the historic "Route 66" that parallels I-40 for a ways.  I should arrive in Bullhead sometime in the afternoon of the 29th.  I will hopefully find a cheap motel there and will await the arrival of the CA riders.

Justin was checking his schedule to see if he can meet me on the NM/TX border the sometime during the following week ending 4/9.  If not, we will set something up for later.  Either way, I will catch part of NM on my way back up to Colorado or on my way down to TX.

No, DAMMIT!  >:(

Rode to Bradenton back in November for the Manufacturer's Cup Finals to hang with Bill, Sam, MRieck, Frank (dragracer), Jerry RxMan, Larz, Kenny (CycleX), Pat (Ape), (and others I'm sure I forgot to mention) and my bike would not go over 70mph!  :o How embarrassing!  :-[ Low compression in two cylinders and VERY LOW compression in the other two meant it wouldn't even start without a shot of ether. Cylinders have been lightly honed, pistons fitted with new rings, valves lapped, cam reinstalled, new alt gasket, new trans cover gasket, new seals, and new friction plates waiting to go in. Just need to time the cam, install the valve cover, and put the engine back in.

I'll be ready before PimpZilla passes through these neck of the woods, GUARANTEED!  8)

I'll even have the new rings seated by then.  ;)

I can tag along for a short ride, if you can twist your route a bit going to Rosamond from LA area and perhaps meet with pat at ape? No worries if can't be done

Actually, you can pick up 66 at the Crookton Rd exit a few miles West of Ashfork. I'd meet up with you, but I'm going to Flat-track races in Prescott Valley this weekend. (trying to talk myself out of racing my Ascot... :o)

What did you have in mind? I'm stoked to make a small detour to get more people involved but I don't want to add too much extra mileage to our day.

Matt, maybe you could shift your route North a bit, and have a meetup with Gold in Santa Clarita? From there you could meet with Pat near Palmdale, and then head towards Victorville and I-15? Even if it adds a few miles, it may take less time than LA traffic?

If you are going to catch I-40 West then fuel up in BHC, take Hwy 163 to Hwy 95 South in Nevada. This dumps you West of Needles. There is a fuel stop in Essex, CA but after that not until you get to Ludlow, CA. Pretty wide open country out there. Take water.

There is a Chevron at Nevada 163/ Hwy 95 on your right if you wanted to top off. Probably fresher fuel than Essex.  ;)

Another option is to take Arrowhead Junction to Goffs than catch I-40 West. This also follows the AT&SF Railroad.

The longest stretch of Route 66 is between Seligman and Golden Shores. I use to attend the event which is huge. In fact on the 66 TH anniversary of Rte. 66 the Post Office issued a special postmark stating this. I have three post cards with this postmark as well as Sweatshirts. Postmark was destroyed after the event. At least I was told this.  ::)

You can find many restaurants for dinner in Laughlin at the Casinos. Can't remember the last time I ate there. Probably 6 to 7 years if not more. IHOP is close to your camp ground and any Casino serves breakfast. I can meet for breakfast on Sunday.

I'm in. May I suggest you cut through 126 from Santa Barbara to Newhall, we can meet up somewhere there and then catch 14 north to Rosamond, then 58, 15 Barstow, then 40 to Lake Havasu.

Estimated day/time Saturday morning in Newhall/Santa Clarita area?

Looking at 100 miles for that portion of the ride, so earlier the better??? :) may be we could feed the Godzilla lunch in Rosamond???
