I hate thieves and vandals
« on: August 20, 2013, 11:51:05 AM »
woke up this morning planning on taking the bike to the salvage yard for a head to the truck. hand prints all over the hood to my wifes and daughters car., as well as gas tank to bike.  we live out in middle of cornfields, dust is a major problem.  me and the deputy didnt find anything wrong with the car, but they did photograph the handprints on everything, infortunately not good enough for prints.  I wound up calling the deputy back to let him know i found what they did to the bike.
deputy agrees with me.............removing the clip to a masterlink for a drive chain is attempted murder.  I can only think of 1 dope head young male who i have pissed off that bad in the last year.  they are going to pay an unannounced visit to the house he is staying at.  several will be going to jail, and if my parts and tools are there, those will be the least of the charges.
so my trip to the junkyard has been cancelled again untill i find a 630 chain masterlink clip.  local bike shop down here should have one.

Don't hold your breath.
You've got nothing but speculation at best.
Would be hilarious to sit in the court room while your lawyer pitches an attempted murder plot though.

Pretty good that you have only pissed off one person all year.
Sorry about the hassle though!

So besides the master link they stole your parts and tools too?

Guess Ill use this as self advice, Im much more complacent about locking my stuff now that Im outta the city. Hope you get the chance to confront this little thieving f##ker.

In the last 12 months at work we have had fuel stolen out of the tanks of the trucks numerous times.  Pisses me off when I have to go refuel the trucks on the side of the road and bleed the pumps because the dumb #$%* drivers don't know what that fuel guage means when it is sitting on E.

The best one I have seen though was when I was working on Lady Elliot Island.  It is a 76 acre coral cay about 80km off the coast of Queensland on the Great Barrier Reef.  Not much out there is locked up because in theory there is only one way onto and off the island, by the planes owned by the island.
Every week we had to do a stocktake on the fuel supplies on the island, one week we were down 1000lt.  The only thing we could put it down to was a trawler that had been moored just off the island for nearly a week.  How they got that much fuel off the island without being seen I'll never know.

well like the deputy said, someone is definitely watching the property.  i have kept my barn locked for i dont know howlong now at night and we arent home.  the 1 night 1 leave bike outside and barn unlocked whammo.  they arrested the lil punk on drug charges, but couldnt pin the theft on him for lack of evidence.  i am pretty sure it was him, he's the only 1 i can think of that pissed at me close enough to be watching the property.  on my way this morning to junkyard and by bike shop to pick up new retaining clip.
