Today was another glorious reinforcement of why classic Japanes bikes are so much fun. Had to return to my work in northern BC so did a 600+km ride on Silver Sophie. Apart from the nice weather (although it was almost heated vest temperature when I started) and spectacular scenery, I got to musing to myself, as one does when lost in the rapture of the ride.
So here is the question: has anyone noticed that when you are out riding, every time you get to an interesting twisty bit of road you will come up to a convoy of plodding RV's holding things up at 25-30kph below the speed limit? And when you have patiently waited for 10 or 15km for the one and only passing place, with absolutely no traffic coming in the opposite direction, at the moment you can finally pass, the opposite lane is wall to wall with vehicles so you cannot get by?
Perhaps there is some scientific reason for this. Or perhaps it is some superior force just messing with our heads...... I end up laughing inside my helmet with the realisation that it just means that I am going to be on the bike that much longer on that ride!
