Carb Sync Ports on a CB750K2
« on: May 18, 2005, 10:52:01 AM »
Hello,
I am awaiting my service manuals to come in this week, but I am getting a little impatient.  I have read through the faq and I have the SOHCmanual.pdf that is available online.  I am a bit unclear, where the sync ports (to hook up my sync tool) are located on my carburators.  From what I've read, my standard sytle carbs (stock) don't have the nipple on them like many CV carbs do.  I think I need to remove a screw and insert a hollow fitting which will connect to my rubber hoses on the carbtune II.  Is this correct?  If so, which screw do I remove to accomplish this?
Thanks
jesse

There are little brass plugs with small metal gaskets under them. They are on the side closer to the cylinder head. The ones nearest your airbox are the idle air adjustment screws.

Happy Synching!

Excellent, that is what I thought, but I wasn't sure.  Just to make darn certain, I've attached a picture, where I've circled the screw in question.  Is this correct?

Hopefully, this will be a good reference for others...

Thank you very much.

Hi Jesse,

the hollow tubes you refer to were available direct from Honda a couple of years back.

I bought a set and didn't go broke buying them.

I can't remember exactly how much they were, but if you really need to know, I'll dig out my paperwork.

Cheers,
Lou.

Thanks Lou, actually, I broke down today and bought a Carbtune II.  I think those are suppose to have the 5mm and 6mm fitting which should fit my carbs on both my honda and suzuki.  But if you feel like, it post away, I am sure others will find it useful down the road.
Thanks again.

Jesse,

I have taken a few photos of the Carb Vacuum Adapters for you. Compare them to those you'll be getting with the Carbtune unit.
Unfortunately, I cannot find the Invoice for them, so I don't have a correct dollar amount for you. If and when I do find it, I'll post it.

So, here they are. The first one is of all four tubes in their storage box, and the second is a shot with my hand in the view to show a comparison of size of the tubes.

Lou.
