Nice music collaborations
« on: August 22, 2013, 04:46:40 PM »
There are so many connections between Irish (North and South) Scottish and American country music that I thought there could be an interest here.

For example I just love to hear Emmylou Harris with Irish singers :
Mary Black, Emmylou Harris and Dolores Keane - Sonny (1991)
or Ricky Skaggs with The Chieftains :
ricky skaggs and the chieftains at home of grand ole opry

Stalwart stuff !
Any other examples ???

I've always loved guitars so how about Les Paul and Chet Atkins.

Chet Atkins & Les Paul

Or Chet Atkins and Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits.

Good idea,  how can you listen to Ricky Scaggs and the Cheiftains and not start tapping your feet?

Unfortunately I hate traditional Irish music. Give me Bowie or Black Sabbath.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

One of the best collaborative sessions I've seen lately would have to be Dave Grohl's "Sound City", the story is great and the collaborations were brilliant....

I love metal as well Lester but you must keep an open mind... ;)

I recently saw Dave Grohl and Rick Springfield, interesting duo. Both recorded at Sound City.

Mick watches Ellen??   I'm so surprised. Actually, that's where I saw it to but too embarrassed to say so!

Sound City looks to be a very interesting movie, need to check it out. Here's the trailer....
