Some #$%*s at FOX thought it was a good idea to replace one of the only AUTOMOTIVE channels (Velocity is the only other one I can think of off the top of my head), with yet ANOTHER generic "sports" channel. We can watch a bunch of guys playing with balls on numerous other channels, why add another? Sure FS1 will keep NASCAR (from what I heard, I don't watch NASCAR), but what about everything else? Pass Time, Pinks/All Out, Gearz (my favorite), MotoGP racing, Rolex Sports Cup, F1 coverage, etc.

They only been advertising it for 4 months.   Seems "speed tv" was going the "mtv" way anyway.   Although it was the only motorsports channel no matter how bad it was getting.

Velocity is there even though it seems like the 24 hour wheeler dealers channel.

Good?   Was good at one time.  Turned in to the nascar channel more than half the time.  Fox has been the parent co for many years.

Ah this pisses me off. I'm not computer savvy enough to find how to watch a race on my laptop so I haven't seen a world superbike race all year. It was good enough that MotoGP was in their programming. It is certain that's disappeared as well?

World Superbike moved to Bein Sport.  The coverage is much better.  There are no commercials during the races and they show all the WSBK series races in one huge block, live.  They also carry interviews and commentary during the down times.  I hope MotoGP moves to Bein Sport too.  Speed/FS1 coverage is terrible with Ralph Shaheen butting in everytime they come back from commercial.  Wouldn't you rather see the entire day of racing.  Bein Sport also airs the qualifying rounds the day before the races.  It sucked that I missed the first race this year because I didn't know where to find it but otherwise the coverage is top notch and better than anything on Speed in years.

just noticed it this last weekend. no more hot rod tv or gears for me.  that was the only channel i could get them on.  do not need another freakin sports channel.  way too many of them just like there are way to many stoopid music channels and other worthless crap.  rant over.

Ok, I'll reveal a portion of my intellect :P......
I liked "Are you faster than a redneck?".......That said, I'll miss
the Barrett Jackson auctions. Agreed that there are enough
sports networks. Nothing much on the new network that's really
different. Overall, a disappointing turn of events. I think they did the
car guys a disservice, but maybe they ran out of new material
for the timeslots between live events? Guess we'll never know.
My favorite episode of PINKS----Suzuki GS1100 vs. Harley V-ROD. :)

DH, they air barrett jackson and mecum auctions on Velocity.

I remember that episode. It was actually the first episode of Pinks I saw, prior to that I had only seen Pinks All Out.

One of the best tv programs I have ever watched was Victory By Design on Speed.  To be fair I think those were made for the BBC or something but Speed used to air really good programming like that about 10 years ago.  How long before Fox Sports 1 drops the MotoGp coverage because it doesn't fit with their new format?  I hope MotoGP ends up on Bein Sport next season.

Just my luck....Velocity isn't offered by my cable co. Maybe tho, if enough interest is shown, the Speed channel programs will get picked up by another network..
Rookster, that's a good looking bike. Well done sir.

Bein Sport is a joint venture between Time Warner and Al Jazeera.  I can understand objections to Al Jazeera as some of the content they have aired has been called anti-American.  As far as its ties to terrorism, that is a much harder thing to quantify.  They were initially and continue to be funded by the government of Qatar.  Qatar has been friendly to the U.S. government and to the many Americans who travel to and live there.  I personally do not believe the company as a whole is supported by or run by terrorists.  I am sure that among the the thousands of people employed by Al Jazeera, some are anti American.  That is just my take on it.  I have been very happy with the WSBK coverage and hope that MotoGP gets the same treatment next season wherever it lands in the US.  I think it is pretty clear that it won't be FS1.
