Update- So I got everything back together- cleaned everything, moved the needle up 1 (bottom notch), changed my points (a used set but better, what was on there wasn't Tec like I thought it was), timed everything perfectly, synced and she purs like a kitten and takes off like a bat out of hell.

I'll do a plug chop tomorrow to see if everything reads fine.

"The needle currently is 4th down from the top, was contemplating moving it down but not sure that would actually do anything. What controls 0 (idle)- 1/4 throttle?"

IF you move it ,it WILL make a difference.
The needle is not down 4th from the top, It is the CLIP that is 4th down from the top.
If you move the clip down to the fifth groove it will raise the needle and be a richer mixture.

You almost never see a clip on the bottom groove. A little extreme.

What controls 0 (idle)- 1/4 throttle?"
The pilot/idle jet and the mixture screw.
When you get to 1/4 throttle the needle starts to lift and begins adding fuel.

I've noticed a difference. I definitely have the ability to move from idle to 1st that I didn't before. Though from 1/4-1/2 throttle the engine feels off some how, more then likely rich so I may try moving the clip back up a notch.
