Putting the carbs back on and I already have them installed with the boots and airbox. Now all I have left is the cables and the fuel tank and it's ready to go. However the cables are proving to be a lot more of a pain then I thought. I definitely should have installed them before installing the carbs all the way.

Any tips or suggestions? It's pretty hard to even get two fingers down there let alone the pull cable.

Assuming everything is connected at the twistgrip, slacken off all the adjustment in the cables first.

Locate the cable ends in their respective places at the carbs, and ensure the inners sit where they should be. You'r kind of working backwards if you see what I mean.

If you then keep the cable taught by pulling back on the outer, you should then be able to slot the adjusters into the brackets and adjust.

It can be a bit fiddly, but unless you've got hands like the Incredible Hulk you should be ok.

Hope this helps.

A small pair of needle nose pliers with a 60 degree bend made this job super easy for me this year.  The pliers were under $5 at Harbor Freight.

+1 on the pliers. It's also far easier to take the threaded cable adjuster out of it's bracket and seat the end of the cable first.

Thanks for the tips, I headed over to HF to pick up the pliers and just my luck they were having a parking lot sale. Picked up a thermometer gun for only 25 bucks.

Anyway the long pliers turned out to be usual as they were to thick to open once I got near the cable. But just in case anyone is in a similar situation the easiest way was the push cable first pretty self explanatory, don't install them yet in the bracket either like my first picture. I just did that to make sure I had the routing right. The pull cable is pretty much impossible if you don't give it slack from the grips.  Once you have loosened the adjuster, guide the ball end of the adjuster under the throttle bracket and with a very thin pair of needle nose pliers grab the ball and pull up and over until the ball is seated (it helps to guide the back of the cable as well doing this). And choke was easy just guide it down, unscrew the hold down bracket for the cable and remove it, with the bracket out of the way you can use some decent pliers and guide the cable down while simultaneously using two fingers under the carbs by the bowl and seating the ball.

Here it is running.

Hey Man,
I have the same Carbs and I was wondering if you could post a picture of how you have these setup, specifically the  inlet side for air flow and choke. I bought a 77 CB750 a while back and have been restoring it. I'm pretty close to having it running but I can't figure out how that choke/backside of the carbs is supposed to be setup. I think I'm missing some parts or something.

Thanks I'd really appreciate the help.
