Points locking screw... M4 x 8 mm
« on: August 23, 2013, 09:33:30 AM »
Hi Gang,

I'm setting the points and stripped the locking screw pictured below. It's an M4 x 8 mm, however I've only been able to find an M4 x 6 mm and an M4 x 10 mm, locally. Is it safe to use the M4 x 10mm or is that going to protrude too far behind the points plate. TEC Points Plate on a 77 CB550F... Maybe throw on another washer? Appreciate any opinions.

The points look like they're in good shape otherwise.

Rick

Use the M4x10, turn the engine over by hand, if it turns over, leave it like that. If there is a clearance issue, shorten those screws.
