After the dust caps arrived, I installed them (and the missing washer).

With the dust caps, I had absolutely NO struggle seating the swing arm. It was a perfect fit...slid right in.

Torqued to 75-foot lbs.

The swing arm has NO lateral movement. I can lift it to any with minimal force, and it stays. I think I read that this means a job well done.

You are right. The shock bushings should face up.

Good call on this. I would have obviously found this when installing my new Hagon shocks which are on the way.  :o

Swapped it around, and torqued it a little more this time to 80 ft-lbs.

Glad this was over. If I had a hydraulic press to remove the stock bushings, I would be more than willing to do this for members here. Because I don't, it's too much manual ass-kicking labor. :(

:)

Took a whole 1.5 minutes to reverse.

At least I have confirmed that you can install a swing upside down just fine. :)

Just a test if we pay attention. :)

This smart a$$ mechanic in the army was sure that I am a total idiot, so he greased caterpillar wheel bearings on T-54 with strawberry jam.  LOL, it looked almost like the military grease we used,  but I caught it.

He spent the whole weekend cleaning it up and doing it again.  I may be an idiot, but I have my bright moments  ;D
