Bent Needle Jet Holder / Main Jet holder
« on: May 05, 2013, 09:16:16 PM »
Not entirely sure what the correct name for the part is, but it is where the main jet screws in. I overtightened them. Stupid design if you ask me. Why in the world is it not shouldered so you can't bend the stupid piece of brass?

Anyway, I searched and came up with this part number 16139-300-004 and was hoping maybe someone could confirm that is correct for a 72. Also, maybe someone knows where to find them? I can only find a handful on ebay and they are outrageous.

Be gentle with brass mang... It's soft.

Anyway, looks like what you are looking for might be in this rebuild kit from CB750 supply for $17 bucks.  Might be anyway.

Ha! Gentle...something I am NOT. Thanks for the link, but unfortunately the holder isn't in that kit. They never are. I've been scouring the web looking and can only find them for about $35 each ordered from either Honda or a couple specialty shops that don't happen to be out of stock. That price just chaps me. I can pick up a set of carbs on ebay for just a pinch more than that.

http://www.cmsnl.com/products/holder-needle-jet_16139300004/ it's a bit pricey at 13 Euros. Have you tried Sudco?

Your looking for the holder that has all the tiny holes in it,emulsion tube, correct ?  Your best bet is to post an add in the Wanted section, sure somebody has those around from a junk set of carbs. Checks the carb body down there carefully that you did not crack it also.

Did you bend all of them?

Maybe you should take your bike to a professional mechanic.

Bent two of them. Only slightly but enough to replace. A mechanic. Gotta love old timers on forums. Everybody is a noob because they haven't posted on the interwebs about every wrench they've turned. Of course, no mechanics ever make any mistakes.

I haven't tried sudco yet. I'll check them out. Found a local guy with a parts bike though so I am going to check that thing out first. Thanks for the help.

I bent a bracket in one my carbs recently and posted up here for help... our friend Lucky was there with the non-helpful condescending reply in my thread as well. Hey, thanks!

Most people don't take Lucky the right way but I'm right there with him, maybe you should be more careful or let somebody else do it. You are lucky you don't just break the carb body, how hard did you crank on the thing? Barely more than finger tight is adequate

Also, contact Harisluv in the for sale section. He does carbs and sells spare stuff if he has it.

I could sell them to you too, I have a spare two or three that are just sitting. Don't bother with the vendors they don't wear out just need to be cleaned

I know it has been forever since I posted in this thread. However, I finally found a good complete set of carbs for a reasonable price. So, now I have the set that I bent the tubes on. How much would these be worth to someone? I know it would be good to keep them around for parts, but honestly, I could use the cash to buy some more parts. I've seen used "parts" sets going on ebay for north of 100 bucks in way worse shape, but I don't know if that is the norm or some seller's lucky day.

I wish I was out riding. Been busy working the summer away like a fool. I hate having to work for a living. One of these days I'll figure out how to ride for a living.
