Drive chain adjustment on cb650
« on: August 24, 2013, 06:19:41 PM »
Is it true the rear suspension needs to be loaded for the specs given in the manual on slack to be accurate? Reading the factory manual it mentions nothing of it and just says put it on the center stand and the slack should be 5/8 to 1 inch of play. Measuring my slack I'm coming up at almost 2 inches at the tighest spot and I'm not getting any noises or chain slap so I'm a bit confused.

If you are measuring correctly 2" is way to much and yes it should be loaded so both sprockets are in a straight horizontal line. Also you should not have loose and tight spots.
