'78 cb750k gas cap door lock
« on: August 27, 2013, 09:31:33 AM »
The lock on the gas cap cover of my bike has broken.  Looks like the plastic at the bottom of the cylinder has snapped. I think there was some sort of tab on the bottom that, when turned, locked the cover door in place. This is not a security lock by any means. Just something they decided on to cover the gas cap. But without it, you either have to let the door flop up and down, or take it off and have a big rectangle with the gas cap showing.

Any one know where to get this part or any ideas on how to fix this one?

Thanks very much.

There is a clip on the underside of the gas door that holds the lock in place. When I had all the pieces in my hand, I just glued mine back together.

The clip is available, but not the filler lid lock. It's the clip you need, then look here: http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb750k7-four-usa_model14395/partslist/F12.html#results
