20 year old kid near Seattle
« on: August 29, 2013, 03:12:25 PM »
Well guys, I just took the plunge and opened Pandora's box. I bought my first project bike! A 1984 CB650SC that's been partially converted to a Café racer.

Here it is as it sits in my garage:

Here's another picture from a different angle that was in the ad:

Its got gauges, fork, wheels (?), and tank from a '75 CB550f. None of the gauges work but the blinkers and taillight (before it fell off...) do, the turn signals are hiding in the tail and are not mounted yet. The tail/seat was custom made out of a second '75 CB550f tank, and the sub frame was cut to accordingly. It doesn't have an air box, but runs flawlessly beyond that limitation.

I've been riding for a few years now, my first bike was a '98 Honda Shadow 750 ACE but that wasn't quite exciting enough for me so I found a guy who was willing to trade it straight across for an '03 Suzuki Bandit 1200s that I love and cherish with all I've got haha.

Here it is:

I can't wait to tear into my new bike and make it mine! I know I'll have a lot of questions for you guys when I start getting into it, like, what kind of gauges will work with this bike?...

Anyways, thanks in advance everyone!!

Welcome:
Nice bike.
Just spent 3 weeks up there and impressed with all the beautiful riding you have available!
Lots of good info here.

Welcome!  I kinda dig the OD Green/Brown/Black paint scheme on the tank!  Those are nice looking rides!
