Nostalgia Drags 10th & 11th August

Cruzin Magazine Nostalgia Drags
Willowbank Raceway
10th & 11th August

Gates open both days - 7am
Qualifying Saturday - 12pm to 6pm
Racing Sunday - 9am to 4pm

At least 3, SOHC's will be there.

Where exactly are you Adam, I lived in Agnes Water for about 8 years, Benaraby wasn't really that far away,,, ;)

Benaraby has a great regional track, love it up there.
I got a Runner up at a nostalgia meet there a few years back, we didn't run the final though, the Harley that won had 3 from 3, I had 2 from 3.

Entry Fee

$130 Driver/Rider only
Crew passes $30 for the event purchased at time of entry only
Spectators $25 per Adult per day, Students with ID $20 per day
kids 13 & under are free.


Brackets

Top Eliminator - 6.60 – Heads Up Pro Tree, no breakouts allowed
Quick Eliminator - 7.60 – Heads Up Pro Tree, no breakouts allowed
Mid Eliminator - 8.60 – Heads Up Pro Tree, no breakouts allowed
Super Eliminator - 9.60 – Heads Up Pro Tree, no breakouts allowed
Vintage Gas - 10.50 and slower, Pre 1970 specially themed sedans
Nostalgia DYO - 10.50 and slower – DYO (this bracket will be split into smaller car fields by ET’s and will include all vehicles slower than 10.50)
Retro Bikes - DYO
Nostalgia Super Stock - DYO


Rules 

* All vehicles must be pre 78 manufacture date (Aussie Vehicles must be mass produced by 1978 and American Vehicles must be manufactured by 1978)

* All bikes must be 1984 or older (naked bikes only)

* No rear engine dragsters allowed

* Electronics that have control over the vehicles performance during a run are not permitted

Well what a great weekend, great weather, the smell of rubber and race fuel the sound of a finely tuned Honda. Mmm, Dam I love racing  ;D
For Saturday's Qualifying challenged my little bro on his Yamaha YB100 for the best of Three at the tree, who's reactions are better.
Well I won all three, 1st Rnd .272 to my .223, 2nd  Rnd .178 to my .032, 3rd Rnd his .055 was very close to my .045
Sunday Race day, Round One I lined my little 400F against a true nostalgia altered frame CB1100 he dialed in a 12 flat to my 14.15, I went .125 at the tree, through the 1/8 at 8.944 @ 75.12mph and the 1/4 at 14.342 @ 88.19 I looked back to see where he was and nothing.. he had a slight accident off the line bike and rider ok and back out for round two. First round win to me.
Round Two lined up against Dad on his 750 K2 he dialed a 13.90 to my 14.15 for some reason Dad and I always run well together, the lights came down I went .022 at the tree to his .015, I went 2.014 to his 2.037 @ the 60' bit slow for us mid to low 1.9s is where we should be. I ran through the 1/8 at 8.916 @ 75.46 to his 8.753 @ 78.57 and the 1/4 at 14.230 @ 90.28 to his 13.879 @ 93.59MPH   haha he broke out, second round win to me.

Round Three lined the 400F against a Suzuki EF thats been lowered, lenghtened and out to 1500cc he dialed in a 8.99 to my 14.20 was thinking way to much about nailing that reaction and possibly making him red light and feel asleep myself haha .492 to his .145 at the 60' it was 1.999 to his 1.582 ran through the 1/8 at 8.879 @ 75.50 to his 5.900 @ 127.03 and the 1/4 at 14.247 @ 88.89 to his 9.063 @ 151.99 MPH having a bike fly past you that much faster in the deep end is a rush in itself  ;D My slow reaction gave him the win but that run was close enough to get me into the final yeeha.
Lined up against a GS1000 (wes cooley) both dialed in a 14.20 so heads up race. At the tree it was .149 to his .255 at the 60' 2.077 to his 2.208 and then I missed second gear dammit ran through the 1/8 at 9.313 @ 74.68 to his 8.967 @ 78.37 and the 1/4 at 14.679 @ 88.95 to his 14.234 @ a slowing 81.88 MPH
Very Happy with Runner Up
I'll ask the YB rider to post some pics up. He ran a PB for this weekend 19.528 @ 62.37mph?? not bad for a tired 100cc 2 stroker

yeah thanks mate. Im happy how well the 400 goes considering we didn't strip the motor down to inspect what condition it was in.

Sounds like a great weekend.
Let me know if they start running chairs, I wouldn't mind giving this drag racing caper a run. ;)
Give the racing/performance board a try next time you have a meeting.
There's a few Ozzi drag racers on there.
