This is an old story, but here's my take on it: Officers of the law who roam the streets are sworn to adhere to a code of conduct. They're armed, and under many circumstances have the right to arrest you, or unfortunately, stick their finger up your ass. These officers abused that ability to detain citizens, and the fingerer broke that code of conduct, and what I would consider a code of human decency by not changing her glove. For these ladies that were pulled over, it's now national news (their lawsuit may have a lot to do with that) and it would be tough to overcome that embarrassment.
And the taxpayer foots the bill for the whole debacle. All because an officer was determined to find the marijuana he thought he smelled, even after he couldn't find any.
