Hey everyone my names Oscar. Lurked/researched on here quite a bit while looking for a bike, registered and researched some more. I'm ready to dig in and i have questions of my own so i thought id start here by introducing myself. Been riding for several years now. Started on sportbikes, got into supermoto's with some dirtbiking on occasion and now im here. My current list of toys includes an 06 DRZ400sm supermoto, a 09 CBR 600RR that is officially for sale as of today, and a few weeks ago became the owner of a 78 CB750K. She runs alright, i know she can benefit from some tuning so I plan to check the plugs, valve clearances, hopefully adjust the cam chain tensioner (it sounds like a bag of rocks when it starts cold), and clean out the carb as well as figure out whats in there because it has pod filters and im curious as to the jetting. Picked up a morgan carbtune which is on its way so i'll have fun with that thing soon. I'm wanting to get this thing running tip top before i start making her beautiful. Anyways heres pics of my previous bikes and my new gal, she has a motogp werks pipe ready to go on.. i just couldnt pass it up.

I have a K8 as well, the stock pipes are too quiet. Good choice on the MotoGP pipe.
That does not look like the stock tank.
What are your plans?

Nice looking bikes you've got there.

'Splain something too me.    I see that you Super-moto guys, in a turn, put your inside foot out to the side facing front like you're on dirt.   What is the purpose of doing this?     I would think if your heal contacts the asphalt, it would grip, kicking your leg back, and rather upsetting the bike.    Please educate me on this technique.   Please be aware, that I have only a little experience on dirt, just light trail riding, no MX or flat track (dirt or asphalt) experience.

Hey Jay, Im a street/sportbike guy originally so although i ride dirt, i dont have much experience in it either except for i think normally you would hug the tank and stick your leg out to put the weight on the front tire. In supermoto, since its kind of the red-headed step child of riding, you can either do knee out or foot out. I tend to prefer knee out on long sweepers, but on tight hairpins and such its much more comfortable for me to go foot out. We have sliders on the bottom of our boots that, well.. slide, just like we would have on our knee on our sportbike leathers. so having your foot out, or sliding on the ground doesnt really upset the bike. I'm not as extreme as others with backing it in, but personally, when the rear tire starts to slide going into the turn, i'm MUCH more comfortable having my foot out and i've had to stomp my foot down too recover the bike from a low side a couple times on the track, and i know people do the same with their knee out but again, its just preference.
